Karolin Luna
Affectionately known as Karo by her close friends and family, Karolin Luna found her love for the arts at an early age. Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic she moved to sunny Miami, Fl at the age of 6 where she became proficient in piano and flute. She turned to competitive dance in high school and college, where she then discovered her passion for film and theatre. Upon graduation, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting further. Within months of her move to The City of Angels, Karolin was signed by a manager and shortly thereafter, a talent agency.
Karolin has starred in several original theatre works and popular favorites such as Neil Simon’s “Last of the Red Hot Lovers” and the critically acclaimed “Diary of a Catholic School Dropout,” directed by the award winning Layon Gray. Her first feature film “PEDRO” (based on the life of Pedro Zamora from the Real World San Francisco) premiered at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival to great reviews. The film also became an official selection for the 2009 Palm Springs Film Festival and the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival. It made its television premiere on MTV in April 2009. Her other television credits include the pilot “Little Miss CEO” and the long running series “America’s Most Wanted.”
Karolin’s commercial work includes spots for the Florida Lottery, Safeway Supermarkets, and the 2008 Super Bowl Pepsi “Magnetic Attraction” starring Justin Timberlake. You may catch Karolin in the current State Farm campaign, “Change”.
At present, Karolin is studying under Stan Kirsch in Los Angeles. Her hope is to create work that inspires laughter and joy.
